Gina + Kevin

Kevin and Gina have been together for 5 years and I was so excited when they got engaged on the 4th of July. Kevin is my cousin and that means that soon Gina will be my cousin-in-law! I couldn't be happier for them.
Gina's favorite flower is sunflowers so it was an obvious choice for us to do sunflower engagement pictures. When we pulled up to this location I was in awe, I don't think I've ever seen anywhere more beautiful! Miles and miles of sunflowers, I'm pretty sure that's what Heaven looks like.

50 States - Wyoming, Nebraska, & South Dakota

As some of you know, my husband and I are on a mission to see all 50 states as a married couple. We have been married since May 30, 2015, and we will have 11 states checked off by May 30, 2016.

Our first trip was to Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota. I didn't get any pictures with my camera in Wyoming, so I'm only highlighting Nebraska and South Dakota.

When deciding to take a road trip to Mount Rushmore, Reid and I came up with our 50 States idea. Reid traveled all over in his childhood, but I have only been to a handful of states myself. That's why we decided to start from scratch and see all 50 states as a married couple instead.

Cheyenne, Wyoming  &  Scottsbluff, Nebraska

August 16, 2015

We left at 9am for Scottsbluff, Nebraska. We passed through Cheyenne on our way.

Side note: about half of these trip pictures are from my iPhone - when I know I'm just going to print these as 4x6 or smaller, I take out my iPhone. If there's a chance these will end up being bigger I pull out my DSLR. Because my DSLR is so big and heavy I tend to limit when I use it on vacation.

Scottsbluff National Park was beautiful, here's my favorites from there:

August 17, 2015

We left early on the 17th to head to South Dakota. It was a cold and foggy day, so we made a detour to get me a sweater from the Target in Rapid City (I was not thinking about sweaters in August!).

At Mount Rushmore I talked to a retired professional wedding photographer from Oregon who offered to take our picture together. One of my favorite things about these 50 States travels have been all the neat people we have had the pleasure of meeting.

We then headed back to Keystone where we had dinner and stayed the night.

The next morning we checked out the profile view of Mount Rushmore, went to The Purple Pie Place in Custer, and took the scenic route home (aka got a little lost). We saw buffalo on the way out of South Dakota which seemed like the perfect ending to our trip.

Our first road trip together was a successful one. We saw family, checked off our first 3 states, and had fun adventuring together.

Tasia + Michael

I absolutely loved every second of photographing Tasia and Michael's wedding! Tasia and I have been friends since we worked together in college in 2009, and Tasia has been my most supportive friend and client since I started my business. Tasia and Michael are so perfect together and I knew that the second I met Michael a couple years ago.

Tasia and Michael's wedding was gorgeous. We started the day at P2 Studios where Tasia got her hair and makeup done. The ceremony and reception was held at Hudson Gardens with the delicious food courtesy of The Gourmet Kitchen. The whole day was perfectly dreamy and so much fun!

Megan + Scott

Scott and I met a few years ago when I was first starting my business (he's the lab manager at Denver Pro Photo), and we became good friends after realizing we had a lot of interests in common. I was overjoyed when he started dating Megan, this beautiful sweet girl from Kentucky, and the two of us clicked instantly. The four of us (my husband Reid included) always have a great time hanging out going to movies, bowling, dinner, etc. - they are a fantastic double-date couple :)

For their session we played around in the RiNo arts district with some of the graffiti, and then drove wayyyy out East, past DIA, to try and find the sunflower fields. I knew it was a long shot, but we all had hoped they would be there. They weren't. I didn't want to go back empty handed so we played around in the grassy plains, in the road, and with the "sunflower" weeds.

I swear it's impossible to get a bad picture of these two! They just adore one another so much that no matter when I snapped the shutter, they were being insanely cute.

At first we were bummed about the lack of sunflowers, but I love these pictures just as much as if the sunflowers were in bloom. In a couple weeks I'll be heading back out this way for an engagement session and we will cross our fingers that the sunflowers will be in bloom then.

Julie + Bill

Julie and Bill had a beautiful mountain wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado at The Lodge at Breckenridge. It was a beautiful ceremony with so much love and laughter. You can see in their eyes how much they adore one another.

Bill and Julie, thank you for letting me be a part of your big day! It was beautiful.

Gabrielle H

Gabrielle's senior portrait session was a ton of fun! We used every prop under the sun, ran around in fields, and laughed! We took pictures all over Ken Caryl Valley, and it was just beautiful!

If you're looking for prop inspiration, this one is my favorite sessions. Flags, sports, confetti, bubbles, dandelion puffs, books, instruments - all can be a great addition to your session and help make your session feel like "you".  These pictures aren't just for your yearbook, they are to mark the end of an era - they are to show the world who you are and this exciting point in your life.

Your senior portraits are a time to have fun and to be yourself! Yes we will get plenty of great yearbook candidates, but as you can see, we get pictures that reach beyond the limitations of the yearbook. Pictures that you will look back on fondly and remember this fun, crazy, exciting time in your life.

Shelby + Cameron

Shelby and Cameron's wedding on June 16, 2015 was so much fun!  The wedding was at Boulder's Dinner Theater in Boulder, Colorado, which is where Shelby and Cameron work and met. The little details of their Disney themed wedding were so perfect, from the Mickey Mouse confetti on the tables all the way down to Shelby's Cinderella shoes.
