Madi + Luke

We had so much fun with Madi and Luke's engagement session, I can't wait to photograph their wedding in August! We photographed most of this session on Madi's parents property in Sedalia - the same place they are getting married.

These two are such a great couple. Kind, funny, and very personable. During the session we decided to take one car to town, so they took out all these books out of their car - books they are taking on an upcoming trip to Kenya to donate. Luke had a hand in creating a non-profit called The Harambee Foundation. This foundation helps lift children in Kenya out of poverty by giving them what they need for an education. You can check out more of the foundation here www.pulltogetherforkenya.org

I have known Madi for my whole life. Our grandpa's were best friends (my grandpa passed when I was 5 year old) and our parents have remained great friends. Madi and I grew up seeing each other about once a year, always in October, for the pumpkin contest held between our families.

I am so happy for these two. They are absolutely adorably perfect for one another.

Megan + Scott

Scott and I met a few years ago when I was first starting my business (he's the lab manager at Denver Pro Photo), and we became good friends after realizing we had a lot of interests in common. I was overjoyed when he started dating Megan, this beautiful sweet girl from Kentucky, and the two of us clicked instantly. The four of us (my husband Reid included) always have a great time hanging out going to movies, bowling, dinner, etc. - they are a fantastic double-date couple :)

For their session we played around in the RiNo arts district with some of the graffiti, and then drove wayyyy out East, past DIA, to try and find the sunflower fields. I knew it was a long shot, but we all had hoped they would be there. They weren't. I didn't want to go back empty handed so we played around in the grassy plains, in the road, and with the "sunflower" weeds.

I swear it's impossible to get a bad picture of these two! They just adore one another so much that no matter when I snapped the shutter, they were being insanely cute.

At first we were bummed about the lack of sunflowers, but I love these pictures just as much as if the sunflowers were in bloom. In a couple weeks I'll be heading back out this way for an engagement session and we will cross our fingers that the sunflowers will be in bloom then.
